Chickpea Hospitality owns and operates some of the most celebrated and iconic restaurants in Detroit and its northern suburbs, including one of the oldest continually operated Middle Eastern restaurants in the country.

Built on operating legacy, we’re a modern restaurant group that hasn’t given up on doing things the old-fashioned way — with a handshake, a hug, or hearty backslap. We treat everyone from our loyal staff and longtime guests to our numerous vendors as we would treat our own family. We remember our guests’ names not just because we love them, but because we’ve known so many of them from birth. In some cases, we’re on our fourth generation of regulars. What a blessing!

Chickpea Hospitality restaurants include Phoenicia, Forest, and Wilder’s in Birmingham, Mich., and Leila in Detroit. In 2020, Chickpea Hospitality Owner Samy Eid became a James Beard Award semifinalist for Outstanding Restaurateur. Phoenicia also received a semifinalist nod in 2022 in the “Outstanding Hospitality” category.
